CIPD Level 3 HR Course Overview

On successful completion of your CIPD Level 3 HR qualification you will be equipped with practical and theoretical skills across the core functions of human resources. These courses don’t assume any prior knowledge but will teach you valuable skills and will give you a practical overview of the range of responsibilities involved in a generalist human resource administrator or assistant role. You can choose to study individual modules as an Award, complete six modules for a Certificate or all eight to achieve the full Level 3 CIPD Foundation Diploma in Human Resource Practice.

What does the CIPD Level 3 offer?

The CIPD Level 3 Foundation HR qualifications are ideal if you are looking to gain a wide range of practical skills in human resources. These qualifications are equivalent to A-level and will provide you with an internationally recognised CIPD qualification as well as the knowledge needed to gain your CIPD Associate membership too.

Developing Yourself as an Effective HR Practitioner

This module is designed to support you in providing an effective and professional service as a Human Resources practitioner. You will gain an understanding of the skills, knowledge and behaviours required across the HR function and how they sit together. As part of this module you will develop your own Continuous Professional Development (CPD) log and gain the skills needed to be a reflective HR practitioner.

Delivery: 3 evenings or 1½ days

Understanding Organisations and the Role of Human Resources

Within this module you will develop a deeper understanding of organisational context and the impact Human Resources strategy can have. You will explore the goals, products, services, customers, culture, structure and external environment in which your organisation operates.

Recording, Analysing and Using Human Resources Information

Human Resources professionals need to be able to identify data and manipulate it to support practice. This module will support you to confidently analyse and present data as well as guide you on how to store and manage data lawfully.

Resourcing Talent

As a Human Resources professional, you will need to understand the benefits of an effective and diverse workforce. Supporting Good Practice in Performance and Reward Management

Within this module and assignment, you will demonstrate an understanding of the purpose of performance management, its relationship to business objectives, the link to motivation and reward and best practice in documentation and appraisals.

Supporting Change within Organisations

Supporting Individual Learning Through Coaching and Mentoring

Assessment & Support

All our Level 3 CIPD Foundation courses are delivered as face-to-face workshops by our fantastic, CIPD approved, teaching team. Our classroom led courses are extremely flexible and can fit around your busy schedule. Choose from:

  • Workshops in London Bridge, Holborn or Liverpool Street
  • 6-9pm evening classes once a week
  • Weekend or weekday sessions once a month.

For more experienced HR professionals, you can complete modules through our competency route; this gives you 121 specialist tutor support that will guide you to build a portfolio of evidence in place of classroom learning. Sessions are arranged at times to suit you directly with the tutor using Skype.

You can mix and match between our different delivery options, creating a personalised training programme. Modules can be taken in any order so there are start points every month.

If you are still undecided we also offer free taster classes for our London workshops. You can book to attend a session where you will get access to careers and study advice from your tutor, as well as meet fellow students to help you get started.

There is a written assessment at the end of each module which will be marked by your tutor. Some modules also have practical assessments to develop core HR skills including interviewing, appraisals, coaching and mentoring.

When you first start the course we will e-mail you an e-textbook and provide you with access to our student hub. The student hub has a detailed resources for each module as well as a copy of the assignment. Before each class your tutor will e-mail you all the resources you need and during classes you will work through each of the learning outcomes. With your peers you will see how they apply within a HR role as well as what is expected within the assessment. Your tutor will then be available as much as you need whilst you’re writing your assignment.
