Abrasive Wheels Overview 

The course involves both classroom and practical sessions. It will introduce the employer and the employee’s duties for the use of work equipment and explain the relevant legislation and the responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act.

What you’ll learn

At the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of current legislation and be able to demonstrate the safe fitting and use of abrasive wheels as per manufacturer’s instructions.

Who should attend?

This course is designed for employees who use or come into contact with the following equipment: Angle grinders fitted with cutting or grinding wheel, Cut-off saws, Bench Grinders and Bench top cut-off saw.

Course Duration

One Day


Delegates are tested at the end of the course via a short written test paper and a practical test of fitting and manoeuvring hand held portable disc grinders.
